If you are outside the UK

You will be able to submit a visa application outside the UK under the new student visa route if you have a CAS issued by the University of Kent for a course with a start date on or after 1 January 2021. The visa will restrict how long you can stay in the UK, where you can study and the number of hours you can work.

However, if you arrive in the UK before 11pm on 31st December 2020, you can apply under the EU Settlement Scheme instead. The deadline to do this is 30 June 2021. Once you have pre-settled or settled status you can freely work and study with no restrictions. Also, if you decide you want to stay in the UK after your course it is easier to do so under the EU Settlement Scheme.

If you are already in the UK

The visa will restrict how long you can stay in the UK, where you can study and the number of hours you can work.

In summary

If you are eligible for the EU Settlement Scheme it is advantageous to apply ASAP.  View detailed information via the UK Council for International Student Affairs.
