Leadership Elections

We are looking for the next leaders of your SU! All students at Medway are eligible to run in the annual Leadership Elections. The Full Time Officers you elect, shape how GKSU is run and work collaboratively with students to be proactive and fierce in the pursuit of efficient, positive change.

Both Greenwich Students' Union and Kent Union are looking for passionate individuals who are prepared to stand and make a difference. You don't need to know everything about running a Students Union as you will receive comprehensive training, but you need to be passionate about making the student experience better for all.

So if you are hardworking, ambitious and care about students, nominate yourself now!

Do we have the answer?

That's a great question! The role is extremely varied. Kent Union have 5 positions and have listed the individual role descriptions whereas Greenwich Students' Union have 4 open Officer roles whereby remits are allocated after election. Find out more information about open positions here.

Greenwich Students' Union pay their Student Officers £24,725, from June 2020 to June 2021. Kent Union Student Officers are paid £20,055.

Greenwich Students' Union have a manifesto booklet and Kent Union have compiled an article with some top tips to help you write your manifesto.

In order to run in either the Greenwich Students' Union or Kent Union Leadership Elections, you will need to be logged into the GSU/KU website and complete the respective online nomination form. You'll need to complete the forms and submit.

Once you're a candidate, you will be expected to campaign to encourage other students to vote for you and discuss why you'd be the best candidate for the role.
